Today Premier Doug Ford confirmed he would lower the price of a bottle or can of beer to $1 from $1.25 by August 27th.

This does not apply to draft beer sold in restaurants or bars and doesn’t include the bottle deposit.

also he’s not forcing any of the 260 breweries in Ontario to lower their prices but encouraging tthem to bring their prices down through the buck-a-beer challenge which allows them to get some discounts on advertising and other bonuses down the line.

It will be in place just in time for the Labour Day Long weekend.
