40 Years After 'Star Wars', Carrie Fisher Describes her Fling with Harrison Ford!

It’s been 40 years since the original Star Wars was released in 1976, and Carrie Fisher is releasing details in her new book, ‘The Princess Diarist’ that describes her on-screen romance with Harrison Ford and how it spilled off-screen!

According to Penguin Random House, “When Carrie Fisher recently discovered the journals she kept during the filming of the first Star Wars movie, she was astonished to see what they had preserved—plaintive love poems, unbridled musings with youthful naiveté, and a vulnerability that she barely recognized. Today, her fame as an author, actress, and pop-culture icon is indisputable, but in 1977, Carrie Fisher was just a (sort-of) regular teenager.”

Ummmm… except that she had a three-month off-screen romance with Harrison Ford (not regular at all).

In an exclusive interview, Fisher recalls, “It was Han and Leia during the week, and Carrie and Harrison during the weekend.” 

Harrison Ford did give permission to print the details of their fling, to which she recalls: “I looked over at Harrison. A hero’s face — a few strands of hair fell over his noble, slightly furrowed brow…How could you ask such a shining specimen of a man to be satisfied with the likes of me?”

This encounter reportedly took place, after a birthday party for director George Lucas (again, not a regular teenager at all)!
