I love my Amazon Echo and I use it every day for everything including  weather reports,  recording our grocery list and playing JACK 102.3.   It’s all voice activated when you use the command word Alexa but you have to say the name in order for it to respond.

Well over the past few days apparently Alexa has been doing unprompted evil sounding laughing.   That’s not creepy.  Amazon knows about the problem and is currently trying to fix it.  Some users have unplugged the device because well…it scared them.

Seriously the Amazon Echo is super cool. It’s a hands-free speaker you control with your voice. Just ask “Alexa” to play music, ask questions, make calls, send and receive messages, provide information, news, sports scores, weather, and more—instantly. All you have to do is ask.
The Echo has an enhanced speaker that now features Dolby processing for improved immersive sound. It has seven microphones and be
amforming technology so it can hear you from across the room—even while music is playing. When you want to use Echo, just say the wake word “Alexa” and Echo responds instantly.
