I remember being in grade 4 when I realized I was starting to have vision issues. I would have to squint to see the blackboard but like any kid my age I didn’t say anything. It wasn’t until around grade 6 that a teacher recommended to my mom that I get my eyes checked. That’s when my life changed – I got glasses and I hated them. Remember, back in the day glasses were one style…huge…and this made me very self-conscious all through high school and college.

After college I discovered theatre and realized I needed to wear contacts so I could see on stage so from then on glasses became like a salad to me…I just didn’t see the point.   Now flash forward years later and suddenly I started seeing all these cool and hip looking people and realized that their secret was a pair of glasses!   When did glasses go from two clear dinner plates to a fashion accessory?

Now I was jealous.  I wanted be cool like the rest of the kids – but how?  Enter Vogue Optical!

I had a chance to visit Dr. Eva So at the Vogue Optical located at 979 Wellington Rd. in the Landmark Cinema’s plaza for an eye exam. She was fantastic and much more delightful than even me!   From filling out the information form to the actual exam itself, the process was easy, laid back and informative (who knew I had eyelashes growing INTO my eyes).

After the exam I was ready to pick out my glasses by visiting the team right next door.   Talk about service!  Alex and Pam were “focused” on my needs as a reluctant glasses wearer and helped me pick out the coolest styles!

Based on how great they looked, I knew I was in good hands.  As I have gotten older (apparently we do) my ability to read with my contacts in has become worse so they suggested progressive lenses which allow me to see the distance and still be able to write and read those awesome tweets you love!

Thanks to them and their honest opinions I was able to pick out my new glasses and I couldn’t be more excited to start wearing them!
